Welcome to the eighth annual Malaysian Model United Nations Conference (MYMUN) hosted by Mont’Kiara International School, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 15th - 17th April 2011.
MYMUN is a THIMUN affiliated conference providing a stimulating MUN experience for middle school students. The conference is open to grades 6, 7 and 8 students from schools where students finish at grade 12. Grade 9 students may apply for the Advisory Panel; Grades 10, 11 and 12 students may apply to be Committee Chairs or on the MYSPY press team. For schools that finish at grade 13 delegates will come from grades 7, 8 and 9; Advisory Panel grade 10 and Committee Chairs and MYSPY press from grades 11-13.
With small committees (maximum 25) our aim is to have all delegates actively involved. We encourage a close relationship between committee chairs and delegates to create a positive learning environment.

Selamat Datang from Malaysia. My name is Sarah Han, and I am a senior at Mont’Kiara International School and am proud to be serving as your Secretary General at MYMUN VIII. Since joining MUN in grade 8, I have been to sixteen conferences including BEIMUN, Singapore THIMUN, THIMUN, and, of course, MYMUN. MYMUN provides you with an amazing experience; you will strengthen your research techniques, speaking ability, debating skills and deepen your understanding of global issues. MYMUN is also a chance to befriend other students who you may meet again in future conferences and grow together to become the next leaders. I look forward to meeting you in April. Dear Directors, Student Officers and Delegates, Selamat Datang from sunny Malaysia! My name is Miki Okumura and I will be serving as Secretary General for MYMUN VIII. I am a senior at Mont’ Kiara International School, and I’ve been involved in MUN since middle school. In the course of my MUN career, I’ve had experiences as a delegate, a chair, an expert and a representative in Youth Assembly. MUN has been an exciting part in my life and I’ve always been fascinated by how MUN enables people from different backgrounds to collaborate in finding solutions to global issues.
